Accomodations in Nantes
 Nantes offers a wide range of accommodations for students: there are hostels, host families, private apartments and student residences. We suggest host families or student residences. 

Some student residences offer fully equipped apartments – from studios to two-bedroom apartments. Most of the residences also offer various facilities and services such as laundry rooms, receptions, sports facilities, cafeterias, bike parking and Internet. 


    Before renting a studio/residence you need to be aware of following things:

  1. You will need to pay a deposit before you can use your studio at the residence. This deposit will be given back at the end of your stay. The deposit is mostly 1 or 2 months rent. 
  2. The garant français is family or a friend who has a French bank account and who will pay your rent fees if you do not do so.  If you don’t have a garant français, the residence will ask you to pay several months rent in one go. 
  3. Sometimes electricity and gas are not included in the rent and must be paid separately to EDF (the French electricity company).
